Located in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region, the Pierro locality, owned and managed by Dr Mike Peterkin, has a viticultural pedigree second to none. Besides making award-winning Chardonnay of distinctive character, Mike also produced the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend in Australia. The Pierro reds are now among the very best in the region.
Pierro Pino's 2014
Medium red colour with a tinge of purple. The bouquet is subdued, earthy and has a background of dark cherry and plum. There are spicy dark cherry palate flavours and the wine has richness and grip. An unusual blend for this region, but surprisingly the shiraz doesn't completely dominate the pinot. The effect is surprisingly appealing. (14% shiraz).
