Nik Weis Wiltinger Alte Reben 12pk 2016

Sourced as usual from the estate’s oldest Schlangengraben vines, this leads with pungent suggestions of grapefruit peel and wet stone accompanied by resinous notes from a second-year oak cask. The glossy palate is sappy in its apple and grapefruit intensity and invigorates with the piquancy of seeds and tang of skin and zest. The residual sugar is nicely integrated and supportive. Enough juiciness carries into the buoyant, slightly sweet finish to refresh.
