Press Review

    Mandala Chardonnay 2017

Reserved, faintly nutty lees and sulfide bouquet, smoky and creamy, with evident oak. The palate is dry and savoury, clean, intense and lingering, with a trace of phenolic grip. Very good wine.

    Mandala Chardonnay 2017

Chardonnay from Dixon’s Creek in the Yarra Valley. All fermented wild. 20% mlf. Bottled in November 2017 so it wasn’t in oak for any great long time.

Low alcohol style though it serves up a decent amount of flavour. This is good to drink. It tastes of pears and peaches, citrus too, with oatmeal and custard-cream aspects cooing over the top. It’s not a punchy or weighty style but it’s juicy and more-ish. There’s a whisper of stuck match too; not much but enough. Nice one.
