Press Review

Trophy 'Pinot Gris of the Year'

Full of personality, this is a gently botrytis influenced, medium style, drinking well now. Bright yellow, with a slightly honeyed fragrance, it is weighty, with concentrated, well-ripened peach and apricot flavours, spicy, honeyed notes and a rich, slightly sweet, very harmonious finish.

    Main Divide Pinot Gris 2016

Bold and expressive bouquet with spicy fleshy fruit aromas. Off-dry on the palate with an immediate and contrasting spice and refreshing acid line. Flavours of ripe orchard fruits, some honeysuckle and citrus follow. Great balance and length, well made.

    Main Divide Pinot Gris 2016

The Pegasus-style of ripe fruit and a little botrytis works a treat. A rich array of yellow peaches and hints of orange marmalade and chamomile. The texture is sublime, smooth and luxuriant.

    Main Divide Pinot Gris 2016

Attractive pinot gris in a moderately sweet style with assertive apricot, pear, ginger and citrus flavours. The wine has a rich, almost syrupy texture and an impressively lengthy finish.

    Main Divide Pinot Gris 2016

Bright, light golden yellow with some depth, paler on the rim. The nose is rounded with a concentrated core of ripe yellow stonefruits along with notes of honeysuckle, exotic yellow florals, musk and minerals. The aromatics possess depth and grow in volume in the glass. Medium-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has a fulsome core with rounded and deep flavours of ripe yellow stonefruits and honeysuckle, with subtle notes of exotic florals and a musky overlay. Spice notes emerge, and the palate is underlined by some power and drive. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, the acidity in the background, and the wine carries to an unctuous finish. This is a fulsome and flavoursome medium-dry Pinot Gris with ripe stonefruit, honey, floral and musk unfolding spice and some alcoholic power.
