Living River Cabernet Sauvignon 12pk 2016 - Firebrand
A brand designed by a guy called Ankles; wines from the oh-so unfashionable Riverland of South Australia, and labels slapped with very unsavoury looking types… Well, we’re in! After being completely surrounded by the wine industry as a kid, twenty- something Greg Grigoriou spent his adult working life doing everything he could to ‘get as far away from the wine industry’ as he could. But despite a stint in Melbourne working in the advertising game, he just couldn’t shake an idea that just kept bubbling along in the background. His childhood home in the Riverland is home to a raft of Italian varieties that just love the hot, dry climate, and the itch to turn them into dangerously drinkable wines was just too great for Greg. His current stable includes Vermentino (think clean, crisp Riesling with the texture of Pinot Gris), Nero d’Avola Rosato (raspberry-scented but robust and dry) and Montepulciano (juicy, slurp-able and full of blackberry goodness).
