There are few tales as impressive as that of Lethbridge Wines. Ray Nadeson and Maree Collis were both successful medical researchers before succumbing to their desire to create a vineyard and winery in Geelong. They planted vines on their own rootstocks, built a straw-bale winery and house, and farmed the land according to biodynamic beliefs. Their wines are powerful, structured, pure and long-lived.

Press Review

    Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2021
When I see some colour in a Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris, I’m heartened by it. I know, at least, it’s not going to be a boring wine.
Brown pear and skin, strawberry, musk and spice. This is fresh, with dribble-down-the-chin juicy pear, a dusting of pepper and spice, frisky acid cut, lovely fine chalky texture, succulence with energy, a little tangerine peel bitterness and tang, and a long and dusty finish of freshness and excellent length. Mushroom earthy complexity. Took me about 35 seconds to write the review, and form an opinion. It’s excellent. Bang on. Bravo.

    Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2021
For this wine the Lethbridge team have travelled away from their home in Geelong down to the much cooler region of Henty for fruit to craft a deliciously exotic pinot gris. It opens with a beautiful pale salmon pink colour, thanks to plenty of skin contact, and then draws you in further with its enticing crab apple, white strawberry and musky aromas plus a touch of coriander seed in the background. What follows is a bright and fresh palate yet also has a rich mouthfeel – fruits are more savoury and earthy but that high acid line is the key ingredient. There’s a nice grip too as it meanders to a long and fine finish. Seriously delicious.
