There are few tales as impressive as that of Lethbridge Wines. Ray Nadeson and Maree Collis were both successful medical researchers before succumbing to their desire to create a vineyard and winery in Geelong. They planted vines on their own rootstocks, built a straw-bale winery and house, and farmed the land according to biodynamic beliefs. Their wines are powerful, structured, pure and long-lived.

Press Review

    Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2016

Medium copper colour, very gris. The bouquet is fragrant and lifted with lots of spice and talcum powder, and some nutty barrel-derived complexity. The wine is light and fresh in the mouth, zesty with good acidity and fruit intensity, lively and firm, dry and savoury but also has plenty of fruit. The finish and aftertaste are clean and refreshing, balanced and long. Excellent wine.

    Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2016

What a terrific pinot gris with its pale copper hue, crunchy fresh, and poached, pears flecked with powdered ginger, vanilla and cardamom. Loads of creamy texture and lemon curd but sprightly acidity keeps it buoyant given the complexity and depth of flavour.

    Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2016

The barest pink tinge. High level of aroma. Honeysuckle, spice and lychee, almost into rosewater. This sets the cat among the pigeons. The palate is a swirl of flavour, faithful to the nose, with juicy pear and woodsmoke added to the fray. It’s a white wine of body, perfume and impact. And yet it remains neat/contained.
