Winemaker of the Year |Tim Lovett | 2019 West Australian Wine Guide by Ray Jordan

Few stories can be told about modern Australian wine without mentioning the amazing rise of Margaret River, and Leeuwin Estate as a pioneer. Founded by Denis and Tricia Horgan in 1979, it is the star estate of Margaret River’s southern area; with a particular pedigree in its famed Chardonnay, but also relatively recent acclaim for Cabernet and Shiraz.

Press Review

    Leeuwin Siblings Shiraz 2016

Deep red/purple colour. The bouquet is sweetly ripe with pepper-spice high notes and lots of charm. It's medium to full-bodied, with fine persistent tannins and good balance. Good value.

    Leeuwin Siblings Shiraz 2016

Mid-weighted and exuberant of floral scents, rose-water, blueberry and iodine, with a smear of olive tapenade melding with peppery acidity. The finish is long and gentle, with well judged astringency reflecting a sensitive winemaking hand. This is fresher, more poised and less ambitious than its Art Series sibling.
