Few stories can be told about modern Australian wine without mentioning the amazing rise of Margaret River, and Leeuwin Estate as a pioneer. Founded by Denis and Tricia Horgan in 1979, it is the star estate of Margaret River’s southern area; with a particular pedigree in its famed Chardonnay, but also relatively recent acclaim for Cabernet and Shiraz.
Leeuwin Siblings Sauvignon Blanc 2020
100% sauvignon blanc. 10-15% barrel ferment, initial vigorous lees stirring to build texture. Lower yields in ‘20 reduced the production quantity of this wine. This has a super-grassy and herbal nose, with white pepper and spice. The palate is laced with blackcurrant and lychee, shaped by creamy, fine phenolic grip through the mid palate. Pretty, aromatic and lithe… epic value for money.
