Katnook Estate Prodigy Shiraz 6pk 2014
Katnook is one of the oldest and most acclaimed producers of fine Coonawarra wine. With a history dating back to 1896, it has estate vineyards in the heart of the famed soils on the Riddoch highway. Winemaker Wayne Stehbens made every single vintage of Katnook up until his passing in 2017; a remarkable achievement. In 2018, a new chapter began with Senior Winemaker Tim Heath building on this legacy and leading Katnook's journey into the future.
Katnook Estate Prodigy Shiraz 2014
Machine-harvested crushed and destemmed, fermented with cultured yeast, 5-10 days on skins, matured for 25 months in French and American oak (47% new). Although the only obvious difference between this and its Estate sibling is the 20% more new oak, there has to be some fruit and barrel selection. This is in the opulent style consistently made by Katnook for many years, the one gradual change for the better less new oak and less time in barrel.
