Katnook Estate Caledonian Cabernet Shiraz 6pk 2015
Katnook is one of the oldest and most acclaimed producers of fine Coonawarra wine. With a history dating back to 1896, it has estate vineyards in the heart of the famed soils on the Riddoch highway. Winemaker, Wayne Stehbens, made every single vintage of Katnook up until his passing in 2017; a remarkable achievement. Katnook Estate has three wines in the Langton’s Classification of Australian Wine.
Katnook Caledonian Cabernet Shiraz 2015
55% cabernet sauvignon, 35% shiraz, the remaining 10% tannat and petit verdot, matured for 14 months in French oak (40% new). The oak is obvious on the bouquet, although less so on the complex, full-bodied palate, with its array of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum and spicy oak flavours, the tannins built to size.
