Katnook Estate Amara Cabernet Sauvignon 6pk 2016
Katnook is one of the oldest and most acclaimed producers of fine Coonawarra wine. With a history dating back to 1896, it has estate vineyards in the heart of the famed soils on the Riddoch highway. Winemaker Wayne Stehbens made every single vintage of Katnook up until his passing in 2017; a remarkable achievement. In 2018, a new chapter began with Senior Winemaker Tim Heath building on this legacy and leading Katnook's journey into the future.
Katnook Estate Amara Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Machine-harvested, crushed and destemmed, fermented with cultured yeast, matured in French oak (5% new) for 12 months. Wow, that’s minimal cost in making a $55 cabernet. The varietal character is intense, including the cabernet tannins in splendid control of the palate. Do not buy this unless you’ve tasted it and promised yourself you’ll not taste it again pre-’23 at the earliest.
