Juxtaposed Cabernet Franc 12pk 2017
Wines of character made by a bunch of characters...The Dodgy Bros are all about small lot winemaking, with fruit from sites that show regional and sub regional characters. They make modern and serious expressions of McLaren Vale wines, but also like to have a good time and don’t take themselves too seriously.
Magnum P.I on the label, from back in the days when people watched TV shows on commercial/free-to-air channels. I like Cabernet Franc, very much, but it’s a tricky grape to get right.
Kumato® tomato, or maybe tomato paste, but certainly has a sweet/sappy tomato thing going on. In with that some chocolate, mint and currants. Light to medium-bodied, fine chalky tannin, a juicy/sappy/sweet/sour flavour profile, a little tang, a little richness; it doesn’t lack interest. Finish is pretty good, not long, but satisfactory. Personality and point of difference lends it appeal. Quirky.
