Elderton Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 12pk 2017
Elderton was founded by Neil and Lorraine Ashmead in 1982, and is now run by their sons, Allister and Cameron. Built around the famous Command vineyard in the centre of Nuriootpa, Elderton also has its own vineyards in Greenock and the Eden Valley. Julie Ashmead leads the winemaking and viticulture teams in crafting distinctly classic, yet refined, Barossa reds that live up to the estate’s history and world class quality.
Elderton Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Deep darkling colour, with a strong aroma of heavily-charred oak. A.P. John's if I'm not mistaken. Sweetly ripe blackberries beneath. The wine is full-bodied and strong, rounded and gentle in its tannins, which are nevertheless quite abundant. There is richness and fruit-sweetness aided and abetted by heavily charred oak. It needs time for the oak to mellow out.
