Domaine de Cala Classic Rosé 2018

    Coteaux Varois en Provence.
Slightly earthy, tangerine and zest, redcurrant, a smattering of dried herbs. It’s light and frisky, delicate in colour and flavour too, juicy and bursting, some red fruit, but almost into white wine territory, light bitterness, fresh fennel and grip on a spice and citrus-laced finish of fair length. Lean style, but good.

Domaine de Cala Classic Rosé 2018

    41% Grenache, 35% Cinsault, 15% Syrah, 6% Rolle, 1% Grenache Blanc, 1% Carignan, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Limpid onion skin. Orange zest, red currant and pungent flowers on the incisive nose. Concentrated red berry, citrus fruit and succulent herb falvours show excellent clarity and a spine of juicy acidity. Deepens slowly on the back half and finishes very long and chewy, with building florality and a late snap of bitter blood orange.

Packed with fruitiness and fresh acidity, this wine is also full in the mouth. Red fruits in abundance are coupled with a young, orange-tang edge, finishing with acidity.
