Domaine Château de Grand Pré Fleurie Cuvée Spaciale 12pk 2017
Romain Zordan, young gun and innovator of Château de Grand Pré, took over the winemaking at his parent’s Domaine in Fleurie in 2012, and shares the facility with his also 'not-so-unknown' cousin Yann Bertrand. The 8 ha estate vineyards are certified organic since 2009, with an average vine age of 60+ years. Being a great advocate of Jules Chauvet, the ‘godfather’ of natural winemaking, Romain applies organic and biodynamic principals throughout the process and keeps the amount of sulphur to a bare minimum. Besides the Beaujolais AOC, Domaine Château de Grand Pré also produces Fleurie, Morgon and Brouilly Grand Crus. Read More
Domaine Château de Grand Pré Fleurie Cuvée Spacial 2017
Brilliant violet. Red berry liqueur and floral pastille aromas are complemented by suggestions of baking spices and musky earth. Sweet and broad on the palate, offering intense raspberry and cherry preserve and candied violet flavors that are reined in by a smoky mineral flourish. In a plush, expressive style, in keeping with the vintage, finishing sappy, sweet and impressively long, with just a touch of fine-grained tannins and a lingering floral note.
