Press Review

    De Iuliis Limited Shiraz 2017

A rich array of red-fruit and orange-zest aromas here in an assertive, bold mode. The palate has a very rich feel with freshly cut tannins, delivered in a very upbeat, zesty and intense palate. Long finish. Loads of flesh here. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Limited Release means what it says – every year there is a best barrel blend sufficient for 250 dozen bottles from across the family vineyards. This is on the full side of medium-bodied, understandable given the aim to present a wine that can be enjoyed now, and even more in 10-20 years time. It has untold layers of black fruits to act as springboards into the future.

    De Iuliis Limited Shiraz 2017

Has good depth of red and dark fruits on the nose, with a little oak and a little sulfide on pouring, although this cleared. The palate has big flavour and the firm, slightly chewy tannins to match it. Bennie strongly approved, finding "A medium-weight red of crisp acidity, fine yet firm tannins, just-ripe red berry fruit flavours and a dusting of spice. The perfume is pretty and the flavours true. The feel of the wine is appealing and good, the acidity mouth-watering and the tannins shapely and long. Drink now or cellar with confidence."
