Winery Details

The Lloyd family founded Coriole in 1967, and are considered pioneers in the McLaren Vale region, and visionaries in the planting of Italian and French varieties. Long before it was fashionable, Mark Lloyd developed vineyards of Sangiovese, Picpoul, Chenin Blanc, Nero d’Avola, and others, plus of course, Shiraz. They are considered one of the leading lights of the region.

Press Review

    Coriole Sangiovese 2017

So often good. Still very affordable.

Cherry, liquorice, dried herbs, smoke. Medium-bodied, cherry and plum, savoury new leather and dried herb, pleasingly rustic open-knit tannin, fresh strawberry acidity, brightness and dried herb with a gentle tang to the finish. Tidy.

    Coriole Sangiovese 2017

Deepish red/purple colour, with a fresh berry-driven aroma, the fruit doing all the talking. The wine is fruit-sweet and delicious in the mouth, with softness and balance, freshness and clean red fruit flavours tinged with a little star anise. Lovely, and has a future.
