Cooke Brothers Deanery Vineyard Chardonnay 2019
Adelaide Hills chardonnay going through a wild ferment and landing in all new French oak barrels. “Grown by Alan. Enjoy”. Says the label. Simple things, ey?
Chewy, seasoned chardonnay with ripples of liquid clove-cinnamon spice, big stone fruit and green melon notes, has quite a bit of intensity and concentration and keeps things nice and fresh too. Seasoning is overt here, so you’ll have to dig that, and it draws a bit of moisture out of the palate, especially through the woody-resiny finish. Best drunk in a few years I reckon.
