The Bream Creek vineyard was planted in 1974 by Fred Peacock. One of the first commercial vineyards established in the Apple Isle state, it has long been considered one of the very best sites in Eastern Tasmania. Fred's premium cool-climate wines are concentrated and long, thanks to the mature vines and low yields.

Trophy for Best Tasmanian Riesling & Gold Medal - Canberra International Riesling Challenge 2017

    Bream Creek Riesling 2016

Here the residual sugar was 10.7g/l, and while not threatening the impeccable balance between it and the acidity, it is part of the extra level of depth to the Rose’s lime juice quality it shares with its sibling. Its fine tannins are akin to those of German Rieslings and the best from Alsace. Trophy Best Tasmanian Riesling Canberra International Riesling Challenge ’17.

Light to mid-green/yellow hue; aromas of mandarin, shy and clean and fresh, the palate deliciously off-dry, with a lemon juicy flavour which is not simplistic. A halbtrocken style, which is superbly poised and lovely to drink. The bouquet needs a little more time to develop fully. Impressive and loaded with potential.

    Bream Creek Riesling 2016

This wine...was recently named top Tasmanian riesling at the International Riesling Challenge in Canberra. It's a little masterpiece from vigneron Fred Peacock.....crisp and dry with bright lemon, lime and Granny Smith apple notes along with terrific length and acidity. Riesling is well suited to the Tasmanian climate, and is a good match with the seafood, shellfish and Asian-accented dishes.
