Brave Souls 'The Able Seaman' GSM 2018
It’s a myth that the BBC childrens’ show, Captain Pugwash, featured characters named “Roger the Cabin Boy”, “Master Bates”, and “Seaman Staines”. The real names were “Master Mate”, “Tom the Cabin Boy”, and “Pirates Barnabas and Willy”. So there you go. Although I know one Wine Front subscriber has an Instagram account for his dog, called “Roger the Dog”, and, of course, I had to point out that particular double entendre. But here we have The Able Seaman. Avast yea mateys!
Juicy blue fruit, coal dust, aniseed and spice. Succulent, soft powdery tannin, all the sweet blue and red fruits, something like a salty beef jerky and earthy Mataro flavour, a light gloss and spicy sweet raspberry finish of good length. Bold flavour of easy-going and hearty appeal.
