    Best's Pinot Meunier Pinot Noir 6pk 2017

Pinot Meunier from Best’s. Here blended with Pinot Noir, and a whole bunch component. This is made from Best’s younger vine pinot meunier plantings (as in, planted in 1970), with help from Best’s Old Clone Pinot Noir.

Light to look at and indeed it’s made in a refreshing, delicate, Bone China style. It’s part of its charm. It tastes of cranberry and red cherry, spices, rose oil, macerated plums and twigs. Musk too. A bit this way, a bit that. It’s firm-ish through the finish, just. It’s dry. It’s quite delightful; its best years are ahead of it.

The Thomson family describe this red pinot blend as coming from "young" vines - the vineyard began life in 1866. The wine is modern, the colour immediately placing you in fine pinot territory. Next you take in the foresty spice that's one of pinot's most enticing characters along with fresh, red cherry fruit flavours, all swirling in a beautifully balanced, light to medium-bodied style.
