Press Review

    Best's Foudre Ferment Riesling 6pk 2018

Vines planted '78 and '98, whole-berry pressed, 4-6 days skin contact, wild-fermented in a 6yo foudre, where it was matured for 5 months on gross lees. It is remarkably rich and layered, yet intense and fresh. Unusual, but high quality.

    Best's Foudre Ferment Riesling 6pk 2018

A very attractive, composed and pure expression with fresh apple and lime aromas, delivered with a smooth, juicy and attractively succulent texture. Really deep and assertive. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

    Best's Foudre Ferment Riesling 6pk 2018

Best's rarely put a foot wrong with their wines, sticking to traditional regional staples or varieties that they have grown throughout their long and incredible history. So this, a new large-format-barrel-fermented riesling is an outlier in their range. It's a beautiful wine, complex and satisfying for its savoury nuances while still delivering hallmark, blistering acidity and citrus fruit characters. There's some oatmeal like yeasty contributions and a touch of creamy, spice-laced vanilla character too.
