Jayden Ong; A Man of Many Labels
A first generation winemaker, Jayden has a very clear philosophy with his approach to winemaking: "I have confidence in the quality of our vineyard sites, and our work in them during the year. Grape growing and wine making are dominated by forever changing variables and each year our approach requires some flexibility and pragmatism to ensure we capture the essence of each site and the vintage. With dedication, as time goes by, we are able to understand our vineyards better and refine the quality of our offering. Our goal is to deliver a bottle of wine that encapsulates a specific time and place."
In 2017, Jayden made the first wines from his home vineyard; a Sauvignon Blanc, and a Pinot Noir under his eponymous label, alongside the One Block, and La Maison de Ong ranges, which he sources from for from a number of vineyards round Victoria, including the famous Gruyere on Syme vineyard, home to the Thousand Candles wines.
